### A transformative approach to underwater threat detection

Underwater threats pose significant challenges to maritime security and national interests. These threats can compromise critical infrastructure, disrupt shipping lanes, facilitate the covert gathering of intelligence, and even serve as conduits for illicit activities such as narcotics delivery. In some cases, they present a strategic threat against neighbouring countries.

SeaSense offers a transformative approach to underwater threat detection and response. Designed with affordability and efficiency in mind, SeaSense provides a low-impact alternative to conventional Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) solutions, with minimal personnel compared to traditional shipborne or helicopter-deployed sensor systems.

**Capabilities**
The towed active/passive Variable Depth Sonar (VDS) represents a significant advancement in maritime surveillance and defence, offering a robust capability to exploit the underwater environment for a range of security applications. Combining both active and passive sonar technologies, SeaSense provides a flexible and comprehensive approach to detecting, tracking, and classifying underwater threats.

A comprehensive solution for harbour protection, security of coastal infrastructure, Task Force protection, and drug interdiction.

**USPs**
The system employs a **high-power omnidirectional transmitter**, ensuring uniform acoustic energy distribution in all directions to maximise detection probability and reduces the risk of blind spots.

The **triplet receiver array** effectively resolves left/right ambiguity, a common challenge in towed array sonar operations.

**Auto-tracking** enables the system to automatically follow detected targets, reducing operator workload and minimising the risk of losing contact.

Integrating **active and passive sonar technologies within a single tow** offers significant advantages, particularly in reducing false alarms and enhancing situational awareness for all operational roles.
